5 Quick Tips To Taking Control Of A Blackjack Table

Take Control At The Blackjack Table
Bryan Fulton | World Renowned Casino Dealer

Take Control Of The Casino Action!

As a blackjack dealer your job is to protect the game, follow procedures and make the casino the most money you can by dealing as many hands as possible while at the blackjack table.

More hands per hour means more chances at winning your money for the house.

Here are 5 ways to take back control of your money and the game of blackjack:

#1 Contemplate -

Take your time playing your hand, once the cards have been dealt you can act as if you are not sure what you would like to do. Should I split my fives (NO NEVER!) should I double, should I double after I split. You can not control how fast the blackjack dealer removes the cards from the shoe but you do have control of how long it takes you to play your hand. * Do not be unreasonable with your actions but definitely contemplate your next move.

#2 Change it up -

Ask for change for bigger chips. This will give you a chance to slow down the blackjack dealer and let the dust settle for a minute. Coloring up works too, although most casinos will ask you to wait until the shoe is over if you try to color up too many times during the shoe.

#3 Bet the Rainbow -

Place wagers in different denominations using different color chips (highest valued chips on the bottom). This is one of the best strategies to take control back because no one can say anything to you and it really does slow down the game and increase your control. * Bonus if you are lucky enough to get a blackjack sit back and watch as the dealer breaks down your checks (another word for casino chips) and sweats the payout.

#4 Go Valdez on Them -

Spilling a drink on the layout will demand immediate attention from the casino pit staff and it brings the game to a screeching halt! Since the floorman or pit clerk will have to come over and mop up the mess with a bunch of paper towels or a rag, action ceases until the spill is cleaned up (most likely they will have to change out some cards too). This technique is to be used in extreme cases, say the table is just ice cold and the blackjack dealer is a jerk and no one is having fun. * Since it is kind of a hassle make sure you only use this one time, maybe two tops but after that you will most likely be asked to leave.

#5 Gratuity is  Added -

You would be absolutely amazed at how simple tipping the blackjack dealer and asking them to slow down can be. Most blackjack dealers work on tips or tokes and they do not realize that they might be running you over on the blackjack table. Nine times out of ten they will slow down if you ask, and hey if you are betting the rainbow bet, a little $2.50 bet for the dealers is a great touch!

So if you arm yourself with helpful hints and quick tips on how to lower your chances of getting clobbered right out of the gate, you will find that playing blackjack is a lot of fun and could lead to winning some loot! Just make sure you use some of these techniques to help you take back control at the blackjack table. Slow the game down and enjoy your casino experience.

For Gods Sake Go Wash Your F-ing Hands!

Casino GERMS!
Bryan Fulton | World Renowned Casino Dealer

Casino GERMS!

Please Pass The Hand Sanitizer!

Wanna be grossed out?

Public nose picking is nothing new, you see grumpy old men digging for gold all the time in line at the store, waiting for a bus or somewhere else. But in a casino at a blackjack table, its just not cool.

Why do people think its okay to pick and flick then handle the same cards, money or chips that dealers handle? Is that my tip? A big crusty one? Really?

Use Warm / Hot Water

That reason alone should be enough to make sure you do that in the bathroom where you can wash your hand (with soap) afterwards. Or if you are caught with a meaty one hanging out in public you should always have some tissue, a napkin or something other than your finger to help you out.

And I see one more disrespectful disgusting piece of shit shoot a snot rocket at my table I'm gonna loose it. I know you think it looks cool and you are right it does, if you are in the 5th grade and you get some distance! But you just look like a douche bag.

True story alert!

We where opening the casino and a man walked over to the self serve coffee bar, began mixing his cup o joe and then proceeded to have an epic sneez-ure™ (Sneez-ure: verb - to sneeze multiple times back to back with out stopping for air, causing an almost seizure like state.) all over the exposed cups, the machine, the straws, the napkins, and the windows. Then when he was finished, yup you guessed it he wiped his face in an upward motion with his bare palm and sat down at an empty covered Blackjack Table like nothing happen.

You sir were a completely ridiculous rude mother shut yo mouth!

While I'm at it the following are also completely unacceptable at my table (in public too for that matter):
Use Hand Sanitizer Too
  • Farting
  • Burping nasty smelly garlic burps
  • Sneezing w/o covering your mouth
  • Picking scabs
  • Scratching your dandruffy snowflakes scalp
  • Fixing your junk
  • Picking your ass
  • And coughing all over the place

Have some respect for the person next to you, behind you and in front of you. We don't want to taste what you had for dinner or smell what you scarfed down at lunch. We don't want to bring your SARS, H1N1, or Influenza home to our kids. Do your part to stop out airborne germs, together we can make a difference. Or at least leave the table so I don't have to see you doing it!

5 Super Simple Ways to Save Your Money At The Casino!

Know when to walk away, know when to run!

Know When To Walk Away, Know When To Run!

Everyone always asks me:

"What's the best way to make money in the casino?"

My answer is always:

"Put in an application."

Have you ever wondered what is the easiest way to save your money at the casino tables?

Here are 5 super simple ways to do it. Recognize that they all involve getting up from the casino gaming table before you are broke!

#1 Bathroom Break:

Stop and go use the restroom. Most people wait until the shoe is over or the shooter 7's out, but by that time it might be too late.

#2 Drink Time:

Get up and find a bar that is close by and order your own drink from the bartender. Sure drinks are free if you are gambling but a little break might be all you need to regroup.

#3 Phone Home:

You are not allowed to talk on the phone at the casino tables. So making a phone call or sending an e-mail or text can give your mind time to process whats going on and help you walk away a winner.

#4 Stretch:

Maybe all you need is a quick twist or arm pull to get your blood flowing again. Stretching will make you physically remove yourself from the casino table which will let you see where you are at financially.

#5 Be Alarmed:

Set a time limit for your gaming session. Giving yourself a reasonable amount of time to have fun will ensure that you do not spend too much time at the casino tables. Make sure you actually set the alarm on your watch or phone so the noise breaks your concentration and lets you know it is time to try something else for a while.

No matter how much fun you are having if you lose all your money it is never a good time. Remember the golden rule is to physically remove yourself from the game. Getting up and away from the table refreshes your brain and allows you to focus on where you are at. If you are winning great cash out the extra money and go back with your initial bank roll. If you are losing then hey you will realize maybe it is time to go.

Blackjack is not a team sport!
Bryan Fulton Blackjack | World Renowned Casino Dealer

Blackjack Is NOT A Team Sport!

Playing blackjack is fun, but way too many people worry about what they should do and if it is going to effect the other players.

Here are 5 quick facts you have to know about playing blackjack. Trust me it is definitely not a team sport.

Everyone is always afraid of messing up another players cards. People look around like a lost child at the fair wondering if they hit will the rest of players at the casino blackjack table get angry. They wonder if I stay will the casino blackjack dealer get 21?

Here are 5 quick facts you have to know about casino blackjack:

Fact #1:

They casino games are designed to beat you! Blackjack is no exception, the casino will win your money if you stay too long or if you are uneducated about the game of blackjack. So it does not matter if you hit or stand if you play blackjack too long you will lose!

Fact #2:

In order to give yourself a fighting chance of winning at blackjack, you have to know "Basic Strategy". This is what is on all the little cards you always see people sneaking a peek at when they are at the blackjack table. Memorize the basic strategy and if you are caught like a deer in headlights when you are at the blackjack table ask the dealer what you should do, not another player.

Fact #3:

If you are not sure how to effectively play your blackjack cards, you should definitely play at one of the lower limit casino blackjack tables. Players there are generally on the same playing level as you would be on and it will be more about the fun, than winning a million dollars at blackjack.

Fact #4:

If you insist you know what you are doing and decide to play blackjack at a real casino table, and you do realize you need a little guidance so you swallow your pride and ask the casino blackjack dealer how you should play your hand, listen to his/her advice. Do not by any means deviate from the blackjack dealers instructions. They deal hundreds of thousands of hands yearly, they know what they are doing. Regardless of the outcome of your blackjack hand please do not forget to tip your blackjack dealer for the advice. The blackjack dealer does not have to help you win but if you show your gratitude by throwing the blackjack dealer some tips or tokes as they are called (short for token of appreciation) you might just find that the blackjack dealer will help you more often. Besides it is just good karma! * Some casinos frown upon asking the blackjack dealer how to play your hand so make sure you are not breaking any rules.

Fact #5:

This is a big stress reliever, it will leave you in a state of mind that will allow you to have fun and make money. The other players WILL NOT give you your money back if you do miss play your hand in hopes that the rest of the people at the blackjack table will win. So do not ask them if they want you to hit or stand. It is your money play it the way you want to. Observe a reasonable etiquette but at the end of the night if you are broke do you think they are going to buy you dinner because you held your 16?

So remember blackjack is not a team sport! It is a casino game that will beat you every chance it gets. Arm yourself with knowledge and learn how to bet to maximize your chances of walking away with your money.
